Anonymous’ seminars are aimed at the growing number of people who have already been added to our lists through the organization’s continuous activism. The seminars provide them with structured training for expanding their activism, while the social setting allows people to share experiences and to enjoy the company of others sharing similar interests. About 35 people took part in the 2009 seminar, some with only some experience of independent activism in their own area, and others with street stall and office work experience. A special program was conducted for anonymous’ team of lecturers, who had assembled in order to discuss the lecture program. This was due to the recent revival of the program, after the downtime caused by the 2008 educational strikes.

The entire seminar took place in the democratic school “Kehila” in Tel Aviv. Many of the lectures and workshops have already been improved in previous seminars. The lectures focused on animal exploitation in factory farms, worldwide campaigns, campaign planning, and on the ecological aspects of the animal product industry. The workshops focused on convincing the public (such as in street stalls) with simulations, education through the internet, school activism, veganism in a family setting, and a new topic – introduction to the work teams in anonymous and methods of integration into the organization.

The nutritional aspect received a special focus in the seminar due to the healthy and varied vegan menu – and this is an opportunity to thank “Teva Deli” for their donation of hamburgers, sausages and Shawarma (all vegan, of course). Additionally, a lecture was held by a nutritionist, Kerem Avital, along with a vegan cooking workshop, and a cookbook was distributed with the recipes used in the seminar, some of which were analyzed for nutritional value.
